ICD   Improving Crime Data Project

Founding Director: Dr. Robert R. Friedmann

The Statistical Analysis Bureau (SAB) was established on March 20, 1990, to integrate and analyze crime and criminal justice data. Its research is aimed at providing timely, practical information regarding the criminal justice system to policy analysts, the governor, legislators, other elected officials, the public, and others interested in criminal justice issues. Until 1995 the SAB was funded by an annual (renewable) grant awarded by the Bureau of Justice Statistics to the Governor's Criminal Justice Coordinating Council and from other funding sources. From July, 1995, the SAB has been operating on and continues to seek additional external grants. SAB's research reports include:
