Tips on Helping Your Child Overcome Bedwetting

You recently potty trained your child and just when you thought he was through with bed wetting, he reverted back to his pattern of doing it. However, if your child is older than age five and struggles with bed wetting, it might be a good idea to speak with your child’s pediatrician. Some steps you can take to reduce bedwetting include:

  • Cut back on serving drinks to your child near bedtime
  • Encourage your child and praise him when he is not wetting his bed

You can do this by letting him stay up a little later on weekends, preparing his favorite dinner or dessert, or treating him to an all day outing at local kid-friendly venues.

Bed wetting is normal for children up to age five, and keep in mind that for each child progress happens at a different rate.
